CIHRSM Lauds NYSC Allowance Increase

...encourages Corps Members to Join Professional Ranks

The recent announcement by the Federal Government to increase the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) monthly allowance to ₦77,000 has been met with widespread approval. Among the supporters is the Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management (CIHRSM), a leading professional body dedicated to advancing human resources and strategic management practices in Nigeria.

Dr. Minna Onomroba Abell, the Registrar and CEO of CIHRSM, lauded the government's decision, stating, "This increase not only acknowledges the invaluable contributions of our youth but
also serves as a motivation for them to further their professional development."

In light of this development, Dr. Abell extended an invitation to current and former corps members to join CIHRSM. "Becoming a member of CIHRSM offers numerous benefits, including access to specialized training programs, workshops, and a network of professionals committed to excellence in human resources and strategic management," he noted.

CIHRSM has consistently emphasized the importance of standardization, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in HR practices. The institute's recent annual conference focused on these themes, underscoring their commitment to elevating this in Nigeria.
By joining CIHRSM, corps members can enhance their career prospects, gain recognition in the HR field, and contribute to the advancement of professional standards in Nigeria. Dr. Abell concluded, "We encourage all corps members to seize this opportunity to invest in their future by aligning with CIHRSM's vision of excellence in human resources and strategic management."
