President Tinubu And President Mbasogo Sign Agreement On Gas Pipeline For Gulf Of Guinea

President Bola Tinubu and Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo signed an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project in Malabo. This solidified their partnership for mutual development, covering legislative and regulatory measures for the gas pipeline, ownership, and general principles. During his remarks at the event, President Tinubu expressed that this agreement will open up new opportunities for gas exploration and employment. The two leaders also discussed employment creation, food security, multilateral relations, conflict resolution mechanisms in Africa during a private meeting before signing the agreement. They focused on issues related to conflicts in Africa and how to promote peace, stability within countries to resolve problems themselves.

Equatorial Guinean President emphasized deeper cooperation across salient areas with Nigeria over many years. He highlighted Africa's vision of having a permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council as vital for its development and affirmed working with Nigeria towards this goal. The signing of this agreement was seen as strategic for Africa's development.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs from both countries signed the agreement along with various ministers from Nigeria who were present at the event.
