2027: Old Bende Young Professionals Insist On APC Governor
A pan-political association under the aegis of Old Bende Young Professionals OBYP has reiterated her resolve to allign with the political prediction of an APC victory in the 2027 Abia governorship stand by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu describing it as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Abia State.
The group in a statement signed by her President Barr, Chima Kenneth Ogbonnaya, Vice-President Prince Francis Ezeh and Secretary, Hon. Chief Dike Chidozie (Dike Ohafia) said it takes great exception to the Labour Party's dismissive reaction, particularly from the Hon Obinna Aguocha, who they say has failed to deliver meaningful results for his constituents but has taken up the role of unofficial spokesperson for the Governor.
The group urges the good people of the Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency to take immediate action and recall the Hon Obinna Aguocha.
OBYP described the signing of the Southeast Development Commission bill into law by the President is a shining example of Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu's dedication to the region's growth, noting that it is a landmark achievement, born out of his vision and perseverance and will bring about unprecedented development and opportunities for Bende people and Igbos.
The group says it will continue to promote the interests of Bende people and Abians, regardless of political affiliations and will not let the lackluster performance of Labour Party distract them from the mission to build a better future for Abia State.
They also urge the Labour Party to focus on selling their manifesto to the people rather than disparaging the APC's chances and called on Nigeria’s Presient, Bola Tinubu to explore a political solution to the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a move they insist will further demonstrate his dedication to national unity and reconciliation.
