Abia State Government Partners Gavice Logistics To Launch Business Empowerment Scheme
Gavice Foundation has partnered the Abia State Government to launch a business empowerment scheme for Abians.
The Founder and CEO of Gavice Logistics Ahamba Tochukwu briefing journalists on Friday 21st of June at the government house in Umuahia stated that the scheme is in collaboration with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Entertainment and Tourism.
He said the scheme aims to provide grants of ₦500,000 for twenty Abians between the ages of fifteen and thirty-five years old and assured that the funds for the scheme had been set aside.
He also revealed that he plans to personally invest in business ideas that show enormous prospects.
“I love to see people grow and I think this is one thing that will make the state grow. You never can say, someone who was given ₦500,000 to start a business might become a billionaire tomorrow.
I think it's just a way for us to give back to society.”
Ahamba also thanked the governor of Abia State Dr Alex Otti for providing a conducive environment for investors.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Entertainment and Tourism, Dr Justin Okey Martins (aka J Martins) contributing encouraged young Abians with innovative ideas to apply.
He noted that applicants with registered businesses would have an edge.
“Please go ahead and apply, people who we will choose will be present at the day of the presentation, the bank will also be present and would happen in between a musical concert that will happen in a few months and I'm hopeful the governor who is the father of the state, will grace us with his presence.”
He revealed that there is a possibility for a few exceptional applicants to be given one million naira, noting that the judges would be made up of professionals that will assist in the identification of applicants with innovative ideas.
